Shallow

If you believe,
that just because
you're aligned with,
or in sympathy with,
or side with,
or feel the rightness of,
or passionate about,
or are inspired by
higher dharmas,
non-dual views,
deconstructive teachings
or profound scripture -
that you've realized it,
or that you've walked the path
or that there is no path,
or that you're done,
you're the world's biggest fool
and you've understood nothing.

All you've done
is to chip at the tip of the iceberg.
Transformation is far deeper than that -
mere alignment of conceptual mind,
and truth is not an opinion column.

One's bone marrow must be turned out
in the cauldron of transformation,
and the heart must be unraveled,
and what was once thought as self
has to be totally undone,
or the winds of contraction remain,
and the causal knot remains untouched.

And accustomed to the karmic burden,
a 6000 pound weight on the shoulders;
until the senses are elevated
to a transcendant panorama
of vast, empty, joyous dharmadhatu,
any notion of freedom or accomplishment,
is as valuable as a bowl of spit,
as long lasting until the next bad mood.
