Death Wish
I know exactly how I want to die -
sitting up, in half-lotus
in the gaze of self-knowing Awareness
abiding in the nature of all.
Whether or not my wish is fulfilled
remains to be seen.
Thus to live one's life
under no pretensions
of old age and longevity,
with the unknown moment
of death a a great mystery,
brings sobriety to the drunken haze
of self-possession
and clarifies a single moment
to crystal purity.
