Purification
The sorrow and fears
of borne existence
lie deep in the belly
as the great unwinding
of contractred existence
builds on its own momentum.
The seething hurts
exposed to the light of awareness
release through the pores,
the belly unwinds
in blissful fashion
and a breath can be taken
that was held back for centuries.
The black moods of the heart
lift like demons exorcised
and the pains exit the mouth
like black smoke from the furnace.
The question mark
of a life of dilemma
gives way to the exclamation point
of the primacy of free awareness and being.
Awareness then stands tall
in the power of its self-knowingess,
carrying with it bodily energies
and physical corporality
in its bright emergence.
