Phil's Mondo India Slide Show
Sights of Rajashtan

After spending a few days in Udaipur (I could have stayed for weeks, but had so much more to see), I took a one day trip to Mt. Abu, a small hill station about 4000 ft above sea level. It is mostly a honeymoon and Indian tourist destination, but it is the site of some incredible Hindu temples.

Not often on has to pull over for a caravan of camels in the desert. The women wear beautifully embroidered vests in this part of the world. Looks like it's a pretty bumpy ride on a camel.

We use electric water pumps, but here in the desert, they pump water the old fashioned way, using oxen. This pump may have been working for centuries, and the water is being used to irrigate the local fields. Timeless picture.
