Phil's Mondo India Slide Show Sights of Udaipur Not far from my hotel was the imposing structure known as the Jagdish Temple, dedicated to Vishnu as Jagganath, Lord of the Universe. It was constructed in 1651, which makes it a fairly modern temple, relatively speaking. The temple sits atop a small hill and there are quite a few stairs to reach the temple grounds. Atop the stairs, the temple is guarded by two stone elephants. As with most temples in India, there are numerous flower mala vendors just outside the temple grounds. Back Next Page 80.
