Phil's All Embracing Bhutan Slide Show
Bhutan National Museum

Bhutan National Museum is a former dzong that houses 7 levels of various artifacts detailing the spiritual and secular history of Bhutan.

The National Museum, which is larger than what appears in this photo, is one of the rare round fortresses in Bhutan. The top section that you can see holds an incredible 'lineage tree' statue of the four schools of Vajrayana Buddhism. The bottom level contains a dungeon, which is not a comfortable place. The entire building is cold and drafty, but quite interesting.

Nothing significant here, just a nice shot of the entrance to the National Museum in the bright afternoon sun.
