Phil's All Embracing Bhutan Slide Show Views of the Grand Palace of Bangkok The beauty of the Grand Palace of Bangkok is hidden until you enter the Palace grounds. At that point you are greeted by roofs and spires of some of the most amazing traditional buildings in the world. The first view from the entrance of the Grand Palace is one that displays these three remarkable and unique spires. Got a Disneyland feel to it. King Rama I built the Grand Palace in 1782, the same year that Bangkok was made the capital of Siam. This particular roof has somewhat of Chinese architectural influence. Back Next Page 3.
