Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche's Temple
Our next stop in Paro was the Drongja Goempa, a temple dedicated to Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche,
one of the great Dzogchen masters of the 20th century. His cremated remains are located in
a beautiful glass chorten on the temple grounds.

Because this is an active temple, we needed permission to enter the grounds. Here are Raj, our
guide, and Benchen Khenpo going to ask the temple priest to let us on the grounds. The yellow roof
symbolizes that this is a temple of Vajrayana Buddhism

Across the road, that little dot high on the adjacent cliff is Tiger's Nest, Taksang, the most famous
and perhaps sacred temple in all of Bhutan. It was built around a cliffside cave where Padmasambhava meditated.
He arrived at the cliff on the back of a flying tiger, and hence, the name Tiger's Nest.
